Experience: 0 to 2 yrs What you’ll Do: Set up and operate various types of lathes (conventional, CNC) to perform precision turning, facing, threading, and other machining operations according to engineering drawings and specifications. Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders, ensuring accurate understanding of machining requirements specific to Chennai's manufacturing standards. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, work holding devices, and fixtures, optimizing for material type and desired finish. Program CNC lathes (if applicable) using G-code and other programming languages, taking into account local machine capabilities and tooling availability in Chennai. Monitor machine operation, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut to achieve optimal performance and part quality, considering the local power and environmental conditions. What you need: Proficiency in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy to required tolerances. Knowledge of G-code programming for CNC lathes (if applicable), with familiarity of local machine controllers. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues common in Chennai's environment.
