There are 1189 chapters and 31,102 verses in the King James Version Bible: To hear or read the Bible in one year, you would have to cover 85+ verses each and every day. Does anyone study that much? Possibly, but it would not be common. You must hear at least 12 verses on Sunday of each and every week for 50 years to complete the Bible. That is, assuming you want to complete it, you go to the same church and you have Pastors that teach the whole Bible. Think it could be done? Maybe, but not likely. How many verses do you hear where you play church? Hinges on if you rely on others or yourself. If you only hear 2 per week, it would take 299 years to cover the complete Bible. If you only hear 3 per week, it would take 199 years to cover the complete Bible. If you only hear 4 per week, it would take 149 years to cover the complete Bible. The majority of so-called Christians (57 percent) only read their Bibles four times a year or less. Only 26 percent of Americans said they read their Bible on a regular basis (four or more times a week). Pathetic numbers to say the least. Bible illiteracy is rampant. I wonder why? Far too many so-called Christians are just playing church. Are you starting to get the picture? It is a huge amount of reading and studying, but easy to accomplish if you just do it. But sadly, not many even give it a try. Attempt to do it with as much understanding as possible, asking for God's wisdom if necessary [James 1:5]. If you expect to complete it during your lifetime, you can only learn what is in God's Word if you study it yourself, everyday. It is mathematically impossible to hear all of the Bible in one lifetime if you are hearing only a few verses each week. Also, try and find a church where God’s word is taught book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. They are few and far between, but, they are out there. If you don’t want to be part of the famine either study on your own or find the right church. How can you know what is in His Word, if you don't study it yourself, frequently and sufficiently? Not studying yourself leaves you susceptible to deception, big-time. Don't want to be deceived; then get busy studying! The Bible is not a novel you read for entertainment. You try to read and study it with understanding, to help you in this life and the afterlife. It is prophecy and history, in other words, He tells us what has happened and exactly what will happen. Let the numbers above guide you to the right way. Do you follow the crowd [majority] or do you truly follow God [minority/don't follow the crowd]? Read Revelation 12:9 and 13:14. Plain and simple. Keep studying, all of it my friends. 2 Timothy 2:15, a command from God, tells us what to do and why. Have you obeyed this command? Also, please search “bible study” on Facebook also for more KJV Bible study guides. This is a subject that needs to be repeated and seen by many today in 2021, 2022 and beyond. Amos 8:11 (KJV) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: Amos 8:12 (KJV) And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. Have you witnessed any signs of this famine? Do you hear all 31,102 verses of God's Word where you go on Sundays? More than likely not, thus, the famine. You'll not likely hear enough to feed your spirit; it will starve. How can you know the word of God yourself if you trust others to spoon feed it to you a couple of verses at a time? You'll only be fed what they want you to know; just like news outlets of today. Think about that! Are you satisfied with that? If not, find a church that actually teaches the entire word of God or study the Bible yourself, completely (cover to cover). Don't allow yourself to be in the group that knows so little about God's word. Psalm 63:1, 119:131; Ezekiel 36:29-30 [when you study all of God's Word, there is no famine, Daniel 12:4; see 2 Timothy 2:15]. Seek Him: Jeremiah 29:13; Amos 5:4; Matthew 7:7; Luke 11:9. What happens to those who don't seek Him? The opposite, they don't find Him. | |
