Don't envy or covet!

Be content with what you have. Many find this difficult to do. Many look at what they think others have and become envious in a bad way. Many only see themselves as victims of unfair treatment, etc. We are told not to do so in God’s word. Have you complied? All verses come from the KJV Bible.

Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
(In the word "covet" we can go from desirable to lust real quick. Our position should be not to look on any part of our neighbor's wealth or family with desire to obtain for ones self. It is much better to wish him well with what he has).

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Ecclesiastes 6:9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Covet: To desire inordinately; to desire that which it is unlawful to obtain or possess; in a bad sense. See Exodus 20:17 above.
Envy: To feel uneasiness, mortification or discontent, at the sight of superior excellence, reputation or happiness enjoyed by another; to repine at another's prosperity; to fret or grieve one's self at the real or supposed superiority of another, and to hate him or her on that account. Envy not thou the oppressor. (Proverbs 3:31).
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

How to Be Satisfied so you can do God’s work!
• Be intentional about living with less instead of wanting more.
• When you accumulate more, give more.
• Be thankful for what you already have instead of resenting what you don't have.
• Know the difference between needs and wants.
• Be satisfied with God”s sufficiency for your needs.

“I make myself rich by making my wants few.” (Henry David Thoreau)
