Trials and tribulations! | |
All verses come from the KJV Bible. Question: "Why does God allow us to go through trials and tribulations?" Answer: Sanctification is why we must endure those trials. If God sees we can't endure them, are we going to be sanctified? Does He want those close to Him who can't endure? He doesn’t want quitters in His midst. Think about it. To sanctify = To cleanse from corruption; to purify from sin; to make holy by detaching the affections of the world and its defilements, and exalting them to a supreme love to God. http://www.gotquestions.org/trials-tribulations.html http://americanwisdomseries.com/1986.html Trials and tribulations in this world are used by God to weed out undesirable qualities in us, to refine us, to purify us to His liking, not ours. Trials develop godly character, patience, perseverance, character and they strengthen our faith. Something to think about: If life here on Earth were any easier, no trials and tribulations, would all people come to repentance? More than likely not is the answer. Look at what happens now (2024+). Trials and tribulations are getting worse, and still many do not come to repentance. So, does God's plan include our trials and tribulations so as to move us closer to repentance, closer to Him? I believe that is the purpose. See Matthew 18:14; Acts 17:30; and 2 Peter 3:9. Trials have a reason. Rejoice in your trials and tribulations, they are proof God is interested in purifying you: Romans 5:1, 8:28-29; Hebrews 11 [whole chapter, especially verses 17-19, the ultimate test of faith, a reason for the test]; 1 Peter 1:6-9; Praise God for the war within! Serenity in sin is death. The Spirit has landed to do battle with the flesh. So take heart if your soul feels like a battlefield at times. The sign of whether you are indwelt by the Spirit is not that you have no bad desires, but that you are at war with them! No reason to fear anything. He strengthens us, trust in Him, no reason to be a “poor me” baby feeling sorry for yourself: Psalm 34:4, 55:22; John 14:27, 16:33; Philippians 4:13; 2 Timothy 1:7, 3:11; James 1:2-4, 12; 1 Peter 5:7-10; Lack of endurance would be one of those qualities weeded out by God: Mark 4:17 describes that unwanted quality; again, He doesn’t like quitters. Please remember this, you will never be tempted with more than you can handle in those trials and tribulations; God will always show you a way through them: 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Timothy 3:11; Do you choose to please man or to please God? Choose wisely! Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
