Sin separates us from God!

KJV Bible study guide on sin, it's effects and what to do about it.

Psalm 5:4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

(God doesn't like sin/wickedness; He doesn't allow sin/wickedness to dwell with Him. Our sins/wickedness separate us from God's face. He will not hear us until we [truly] repent. God’s hatred of sin shows us that He loves His people and wants them to repent and be blessed; He wants us to dwell with Him).

If one doesn't repent, what happens to them?

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(It is your choice. Eternal, spiritual death, or the free gift of God which leads to eternal, spiritual life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. See Galatians 6:7 also).

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(We all sin. No one is excluded here, that means you also).

What can one do?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

(This is conditional; he that believes shall be saved. See John 3:18 and 36 also).

Psalm 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

(You can't con Him. One must repent and do so in truth).

Why must we repent?

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

(God commands all humans to repent. See Ezekiel 18:30-32 also).

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

(Everyone eventually dies and everyone will be judged; He wants us to dwell with Him, that is why we must repent).

These are just a few of the verses that tell us what separates us from God and what happens if we remain separated. They also tell us how to grow nearer to Him; there are many more! See these verses also: Psalm 66:18 (no repenting results in what?), 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Verse 11 is very important. Who justified them)? We all have a choice to make while here on earth, keep sin (no repentance) and remain separated from God or get rid of it (truly repent) and accept His gifts; there is no third choice. Which do you choose? Study your Bibles completely, cover to cover.
