When we die!

Please print this out and use as a KJV Bible study guide. Some humans fear the unknown. That is why this study is done. Once we know what happens when we die there is no reason to be afraid anymore.

First, we have 2 Bodies! 1 Corinthians 15:40-58; [we have 2 bodies, 1 natural and 1 spiritual. Verses 50 and 51 are very important; no flesh and blood in the Kingdom and the word “all” is used twice in verse 51].

Second, to be absent from this flesh body [upon death], the spirit is present with the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 12:6 [This is describing when our flesh body dies].
Ecclesiastes 12:7 [Our flesh body goes back to dust, and the spirit goes back to God who gave it. Also, see John 3:5 (bag of waters, woman's womb)].
Ezekiel 18:4 [All souls are mine, says God]!
Matthew 10:28; Luke 12:4-5; [Who can kill the soul/spirit? This would be the 2nd death. Where does your spirit/soul go when you die]?
Luke 16:19-31 [Jesus' description of what happened to these two different men when they died. Some believe this is not true. Just out of curiosity, why would Jesus describe something to us that is false? Remember, God/Jesus can’t lie. When someone dies they go to heaven/paradise and await final judgment. See Exodus 3:6 also].
Luke 23:43 [Paradise is what Jesus called it in this verse. Heaven is what it is called in other places.]
1 Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 1 Corinthians 15:12-18 are all very important verses.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 [When we are absent from this body, we are present with the Lord].
Hebrews 9:27 [We only live once in the flesh. Then, we go to paradise and await final judgment. What part of us awaits that final judgment? Spirit, the part of us that goes back to God who gave it; see Ecclesiastes 12:7 again].
James 2:26 [The flesh body without the spirit is dead].
Revelation 6:9-11and verse 7:9 [These souls/spirits are with the Lord! They aren't out here somewhere sleeping in a grave waiting on Christ's return. Our God is the God of the living, see Matthew 22:32; Mark 12:27 and Luke 20:38].

Third, we can recognize relatives/loved ones in heaven. This is after the 2nd advent, in the millennium. The millennium is when Christ returns to this earth and reigns for 1,000 years. See Ezekiel 44:25; [What part of us is in heaven/paradise? See Ecclesiastes 12:7 plus 1 Corinthians 15:12-18 and verses 40-58 again. Also see Revelation 20:2-7; verse 6 is important].

Fourth: Great white throne judgment described. Final judgment. Revelation 2:11, 20:6, 11-15; some already have eternal life, some gain eternal life, some experience the 2nd death. [Who are we to fear and why? See Matthew 10:28]. What are we judged for after we die? Our works! See Ecclesiastes 12:14 and Revelation 20:13. What do you wear in heaven? Linen robes which come from your righteous acts (works). See Revelation 19:8.

Fifth: The 2nd death. Death of the soul/spirit! Revelation 2:11, Revelation 20:6 and 14, Revelation 21:8; [Again, who are we to fear and why? See Matthew 10:28.] [All of us die once, some die twice. The second death is of the soul/spirit, forever, eternal].

Sixth: Burning of a dead human body [cremation?] mentioned at least twice; it doesn't appear to be forbidden: Joshua 7:25; 1 Samuel 31:12; 1 Corinthians 13:3; the reasons for burning them are different, but the bodies were burned after death in some cases. Some say it does make a difference; no cremation allowed, only burial. I would ask why not cremation? Another question I have is what happens to a person that dies in a fire and their body is consumed in the fire, or they are blown to bits by a terrorist bomb; in other words, there is nothing left to bury? Does death of our natural bodies in a certain way exclude our souls and spirits from entering heaven? If you think it does, please share chapter and verse from a KJV Bible with me.

Pause, stranger, when you pass by, As you are now—so once was I; As I am now you soon shall be, So prepare for death and follow me. [On a tombstone somewhere].

Thank you Father for wisdom from your word. Your will be done not my will.
