In the Delhi rubber market, Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (PBR) Grade 01 has witnessed a minor price correction today. The price, which stood at Rs.177/kg on April 15, 2025, has dropped to Rs.174/kg as of April 16, 2025 — marking a decline of Rs.3/kg. According to market sources, this downward movement can be attributed to multiple factors including softened crude oil prices, subdued demand from the auto sector, and clearance sales by a few traders aiming to reduce excess stock. Improved import availability in recent days has also contributed to the pricing pressure on domestic supplies. PBR is primarily used in the production of tyres, footwear soles, and various industrial rubber goods. At present, the demand remains somewhat muted across these segments. Dealers indicate that the market is currently in a "wait and watch" phase, as buyers assess whether this correction is temporary or if further adjustments are on the horizon. Among the key domestic producers, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) plays a major role in India’s synthetic rubber segment. With its integrated petrochemical operations and large-scale production capabilities, RIL supplies a significant portion of PBR used by downstream industries. The company’s consistent output and strong distribution network ensure a steady supply to various markets across the country, including Delhi. If raw material costs stabilize and demand revives, there is potential for prices to firm up again.
