The original building of DMC predates the partition of Bengal in 1905. Currently, there are 37 government and 72 private medical colleges in Bangladesh offering MBBS programs to both local and international students. These medical colleges are affiliated with 7 universities in total, with 4 being government-run and the remaining 3 being private universities. These universities conduct professional examinations in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Government of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BM&DC) serves as the regulatory body for MBBS education in Bangladesh, mandating that all medical colleges maintain affiliation with BM&DC. Stringent supervision of all medical colleges in Bangladesh is carried out jointly by the Ministry of Health and BM&DC. | |
