I once heard of a story that goes like this... An heir inherited a business from his father. He had no experience in running the business, nor any specific knowledge pertaining to the business. The senior managers in the company were skeptical. In the first management meeting after his father's death, he gathered all the managers and supervisors in the company. He asked each of them to write down 5 things they had done right and had led to increased sales/productivity. They did. Then he asked them to double the effort in doing those 5 things, and do less of other things. Meeting ended. Long story short, the company tripled its business after a year. The moral of the story? If you want more sales, keep on doing the thing that made you the first sale. If you want to lose weight, keep on doing the thing that lost your first kg. Remember, success is about doing the right but boring things again and again. Ironically, most people get bored doing the same thing, even if that thing makes them money.
